ARTISAN TEXTILE WORKSHOP
Textile workshop is a place where the aims
and activities of Lastavica are overlapping. It
is a place where people are producing,
socializing and finding psychosocial support.
Over years Lastavica has managed to maintain the
work of two textile workshops, one in Surcin and
one in Pancevo. Nowadays the workshop in Surcin
continues its work with continual and
established co-operation with a group of women
from Pancevo.
Sonja Rosic, who is a professional designer, is
responsible for running the workshop including
work planning, design, training and supervision.

Lastavica has organized numerous exhibitions with
partner association in Manak house, Cultural Centre in
Pancevo, Ethnographic Museum, Konak Kneginje Ljubice,
Stari Dvor, Hyatt... Exhibition sales are organized
periodically and in co-operation with partner
organizations, in central Belgrade street Knez
Mihailova, street Vuka Karadjica, street Cika Ljubina,
in Bezistan, hotel Intercontinental, Diplomatic Club and
some well-known fairs. Special support to the work of
this workshop is given by Ms. Mila Nolan Lazarevic and
Kolo srpskih sestara from New York, Her Majesty Princess
Catherine Foundation, Crabgrass, San Francisco and
Laurence Hovde from Paris.
The textile workshop has the possibility to respond to
individual and specific requests of clients.
Textile workshops support three production programs:
decorative programme, ethno-programme and clothing and
accessories.

adults, bags, handbags, penholders, belts,
socks, towels, edgings and gift bags. The
techniques used are: embroidery, weaving,
crochet and knitting. |
